Paper Roll Window

Every time you press the [=] button, the formula you have keyed in will be sent to the Paper Roll Window. This allows you to go back through what you have entered previously. The paper roll is shown in a floating window which you can view at any time by clicking 'Paper Roll' under the 'View' main menu. Alternatively, you can simply press F12 to show or hide the window.

DreamCalc Pro doesn't simply store your key presses in the original sequence they were keyed in - rather your input is interpreted and converted to natural algebraic order. Therefore, if you key in:

{30} [sin] + {60} [cos] [=]*

this will be shown in the paper roll as:

sin(30) + cos(60) = 1

*This example assumes standard order input, however, the input is always algebraically interpreted, irrespective of the input order setting.

The tool buttons along the top of the window allow you to conveniently:

  • 1. Save the paper roll contents to a text file,
  • 2. Print the paper roll,
  • 3. Copy the paper roll, or just the area selected, to the clipboard
  • 4. Clear the paper roll.

By default, the contents of the paper roll are lost each time the calculator is shutdown. However, you can configure the paper roll using the Options Window, so that the contents are automatically saved on exit. The paper roll will not keep an indefinite record, however. Eventually the oldest entries will be deleted to make room for new ones.
